Transforming Africa’s feedstock potential to economic, social and environmental energy solutions
AfriSAF exists to revolutionise access to Africa’s vast agricultural feedstock resources as a project enabler and developer.
The vision for AfriSAF was birthed in 2022 out of a bold realisation that as global aviation prepares for decarbonisation, Africa can play a defining role by supplying the feedstock required for the clean energy transition.
By 2024, bringing their expertise and experience in aviation and clean energy, the founding team worked on bridging the gap between Africa’s rich agricultural potential and the rigorous demands of global energy markets. Recognising that Africa's true leverage lies in the "first mile," they set out to build bankable consortiums, transparent supply chains, and certified feedstock pathways that empower local farming communities while solving energy security for hard-to-abate sectors.
On January 1st, 2025, a landmark date marking the official implementation of EU and UK aviation fuel mandates, AfriSAF was incorporated in the UK. Today, the organisation operates as a premier platform looking to enable and develop the SAF ecosystem in Africa, and accelerate sustainable aviation fuel across Africa and beyond.
