Frontend Developer / Product Engineer - AfriSAF & Verifeed

AfriSAF is building sustainable feedstock supply chains in Africa, supported by Verifeed, our digital platform for traceability, monitoring, certification preparation, and supply chain risk management.

We are looking for a Frontend Developer / Product Engineer to join us as we build, refine, and scale our user interface and web application experience.

What matters most is not a fixed number of years of experience, but the right mindset, values, strong eye for usability, and ability to learn.

We need someone who is open-minded, curious, hard-working, and able to create intuitive web experiences.

Verifeed is not just a technical product. It connects agriculture, sustainability, certification, geospatial data, operations, and business needs.

The right person should be able to think beyond code, understand user workflows, and translate complex data such as map layers, certification steps, and supply chain metrics into clean, responsive, and easy-to-use interfaces.

• Frontend Feature Development: Build, maintain, and improve web applications and interfaces for the Verifeed platform using Next.js, React, and modern CSS and UI frameworks.
• UI/UX & Data Visualisation: Translate business and operational workflows into clear, responsive UI components, interactive dashboards, and geospatial or map-data visualisations.
• API Integration: Seamlessly integrate backend REST APIs built with Django with frontend client state to ensure smooth and performant user interactions.
• Performance & Reliability: Write clean, modular, and maintainable TypeScript and JavaScript code, ensuring fast load times and strong browser compatibility.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate openly with developers, product leaders, and operational teams to refine designs, ask questions, and solve user-interface challenges.
• Domain Adaptation: Learn quickly about domain-specific needs such as agricultural traceability, mapping tools, supply chain workflows, and compliance reporting.
• Task Ownership: Take responsibility for frontend tasks from design handoff and development through testing and deployment on Vercel.

A strong attitude, genuine willingness to learn, and alignment with our sustainability mission are far more important than a specific degree title or length of CV. We welcome applicants with backgrounds or demonstrated interest in:

• Modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
• Next.js, including the App Router, Server Components, static generation, and server-side rendering
• State management, form handling, and API consumption
• Styling tools such as Tailwind CSS, CSS Modules, or UI component libraries
• Web maps and geospatial visualisation using Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers, or GIS tools
• Mobile-first responsive web design
• Modern CI/CD deployment pipelines using Vercel and GitHub
• AI-assisted code generation and workflow tools

We are open to different levels of experience. A strong portfolio or demonstrated projects, good design sense, and alignment with our mission are more important than a specific CV profile.
